Each of these books is unique in its own way. Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology, published in 1991, offers an unusual combination of basics of exercise physiology with equations and models that the bioengineer can use to quantitatively predict exercise response. Biological Process Engineering (1999) gives a systems approach to transport processes in biological systems. Its worked examples and tables of values make it a valuable reference book as well as a textbook. Biology for Engineers is currently in draft form, but offers introductory biology appropriate for engineering students.
